National Conference on Role of Theatre in Education

The IISU Theatrical Society has been initiated with a view to acquainting students with the finer nuances of theatre and drama. The society organizes lectures, demonstrations by eminent theatre personalities, study tours and conducts annual play and drama workshops focusing on different facets of theatre. The theatrical society began its humble origin through a small entry in the cultural offerings in the 2001 fresher’s and since then as the old age saying goes practice makes perfect, the team till today has won numerous prizes at state and national level events nationwide with the latest performance  on 5^th February, 2017 at NSD, New Delhi.  The society is involved in scripting, directing, coordinating, music, dance, stage setup, etc. which is all coordinated by the students without expert guidance. The key feature of the Theatrical Society is a full length play staged annually like Sakina, Paan Khayenge and many more.
